Department of Surgery, The University of Texas, Medical School at Houston, Houston, Texas This case report documents the additive effects of pregnancy, hyperemesis, cholecystitis, and intravenous nutrition in causing profound hypophosphatemia. This led to severe reversible neurological sequelae for the mother and fetal demise. The etiology of hypophosphatemia and management are discussed.
